A New Home

11.12.2009

I’ve moved!  I have a new home and I love it here!  It’s beautiful, the air is fresh, my heart is happy and most of all, I feel like my life is really moving forward.

Leaving North Carolina was an easy decision.  My choice to move to the west coast and not go home to Colorado was a little harder.   I miss my family and friends so much!  Especially my little sister and her family.  They mean the world to me.

My life is upside down.  I am living out of tubs and boxes and I couldn’t be happier!  Moving somewhere new is so exciting.  I am open to starting a new life, making new friends and experiencing new adventures.

Moving forward is a good thing.  And I am going to take advantage of that!

Vegas Baby!

8.27.2009

I just returned from vacation.  My first stop was Las Vegas, Nevada.  Vegas is like one big party.  I love how everyone is there with one agenda . . . to have fun!   Bright lights, smiling faces, almost everyone has a drink in hand. It’s not unusual to have complete strangers come up and pose for photos with one another.  I was in Vegas for five days, but it felt like one hella long wild night taking short naps in between the hustle and bustle of  living it up.  I loved it!

One of the things I love the most about Las Vegas other than late nights and the pure exhilaration of the excitement is  how all the advertisements keep me brainstorming, stimulating my creativity.  Genius uses of fonts and colors spark the imagination and motivate me to take chances and try new things.  It’s amazing, even the hookers and topless dancers have a personal graphic designer.  Really?!? Yeah REALLY!

So like three days into my vacation, I am truly inspired by everything around me, I kept catching myself saying, “I wonder what font that is?” and, “Wow that is an original use of color, I would have never thought to go that route.” So yeah, most of the time, I am thinking how much, I can’t wait to get back to work!  (Sorry, I just have a true appreciation for really good work .)

I know, I know . . . you’re thinking what a loser!  But let me assure you, I had a freaking blast, I made a ton of new friends, (met some really fantastic people) and I left Vegas excited, inspired and ready to get back to work!   And that’s good news for you!
